• March 2026

    March was a good one!

Another fast month โ€” but we packed a lot in.

Our Christmas gift to Sarah’s dad Jeff was tickets to the Journey farewell tour in Pittsburgh, which made for a perfect halfway meeting point for everyone. We turned it into a full weekend: Harvey experienced his first NHL game (Penguins vs. Vegas Golden Knights), we explored the city, and Sarah and I got our belated birthday dinner. Our cousin Miranda, who’s studying at the University of Pittsburgh, graciously babysat Harvey while we were at the concert โ€” we forgot to take a picture, naturally, but it was great to see her.

The rest of the month filled up fast:

    • Sarah completed her last work trip before baby #2 โ€” a visit to Charleston, SC.
    • We celebrated our neighbor’s 2nd birthday at an adventure park. Harvey had a blast and came home with a cold.
    • We watched the Cranford St. Patrick’s Day Parade a couple of blocks from our house.
    • Harvey turned 2. We’re still not sure how that happened. We had a wonderful day at home with family, incredible gifts, and a cake from Cake Artist Cafe here in Cranford that absolutely delivered.
    • Harvey had an impromptu playdate with his swim friend Rory.
    • All of Sarah’s prenatal appointments have been going well, and we reconnected with our doula โ€” also named Sarah โ€” who was with us for Harvey’s delivery and is excited to be back for round two.

April is somehow looking even busier than March, and we’re trying to squeeze in as much as we can before the baby arrives. Wish us luck! Until next time.

  • February 2026

Better late than never โ€” we’re coming to you fresh off a trip to Pittsburgh (more on that next month), where we ended February and kicked off March. Sarah got her dad tickets to see Journey on their farewell tour for Christmas, and Pittsburgh ended up being the perfect halfway point between New Jersey and Minnesota. But we’ll save that story for the March post. Let’s rewindโ€ฆ

February is, without question, the biggest month on the Harris family calendar. Between the two of us, we’re packing in:

    • ๐ŸŽ‚ Michael’s birthday (2/2)
    • ๐ŸŽ‚ Sarah’s birthday (2/9)
    • ๐Ÿ’› Our 10-year dating anniversary โ€” yes, ten years.

And somehow, we still managed to start the month on the back foot. Sarah was in Belgium for work and, unfortunately, came home with an extra souvenir on top of some great chocolate. She got sick while traveling and brought it home to the rest of us. Michael got off relatively easy, but Harvey โ€” who hasn’t yet mastered the art of clearing congestion โ€” was pretty miserable for about a week and a half. It was a tough stretch for the little guy.

On the baby front, Sarah is doing well as we enter the third trimester and get ready to welcome Baby Harris #2 in May. It’s hard to believe how quickly it’s gone.

Oh, and New Jersey decided to remind us that it is, in fact, still winter. After a few unusually mild recent years, it turns out we’re a little out of practice with the cold and snow.

    But here’s the good stuff:

    • ๐ŸŽ‰ Joint birthday celebration with Michael’s parents and Uncle Thewz.
    • ๐Ÿฝ๏ธ 10-year dating anniversary dinner โ€” a very nice night out.
    • โ›„ Harvey’s first snowman. Photos below.
    • ๐Ÿ’ˆHarvey got a haircut. He was overdue and it turned out great.

It was a short month with big moments. On to March!

  • January 2026

Itโ€™s a common sentiment that January tends to feel a bit long, but that couldn’t be further from our experience. It feels like we were just celebrating the New Year, and now we’re heading straight into February with our schedule steadily filling up.

Harvey finally got outside to experience his first real snow (photos below!) in a great new coat and snow pants courtesy of Grammy and Grandad. Heโ€™s been talking more and repeating everything; he loves counting, all things Superman, and climbing whatever he can find. Heโ€™s becoming very independent and wants to do everything himself. Since heโ€™s turning two in March, we think heโ€™s right on trackโ€”there’s never a dull moment.

Sarah was back on the road for work, visiting the ‘winter paradise’ of Chicago. She confirmed that it certainly lived up to its reputation as the Windy City.

On the new baby front, we donโ€™t have a gender reveal just yet, though weโ€™ll likely find out before delivery. Sarah is doing as well as one can while entering the third trimester and navigating work-appropriate travel attire. Next month is a big one for her: sheโ€™ll be in Brussels for a week, back to Chicago briefly, and then finishing the month in Querรฉtaro, Mexico.

On top of the travel, February brings both of our birthdays and our 10-year (๐Ÿคฏ) dating anniversary. Itโ€™s shaping up to be a wonderful month. We hope everyone stays warm and enjoys the best month of the year with us.

    Until next time…

  • December 2025

Hard to believe 2025 is over. It’s been a year of great change for us and many others.

I won’t bury the lede, so let’s start with our biggest news of the year: We are expecting Baby Harris #2 in May of 2026! We’ll become a family of four, Harvey will be a big brother, and we couldn’t be happier.

In December, we spent a lot of time with family and made sure to slow down and enjoy the holiday season. We kicked things off with a “Christmas in Princeton” weekend. Sarah’s dad and his wife, Nancy, rented a house and hosted the whole crewโ€”us, Matthew, Brian, Chelsea, and Elaine. It was a great time filled with games, gifts, and even a snowstorm.

We celebrated Christmas Eve with my parents and spent Christmas Day at Sarah’s mom’s house with the rest of her family. We had a great time opening presents, eating too much, and watching the kids run around. We also had a special dinner with Sarah’s grandparents and Great Aunt Pam, who drove all the way up to see us.

We rounded out our festivities by celebrating with Matthews and Xandria back at my parents’ house. Our cousin Jennifer Harris was a surprise guest, which was awesomeโ€”we had fun with presents and everyone got their time with Harvey.

I’m writing this all alone on New Year’s Eve since Sarah and Harvey have left me and gone to sleep ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜ด, so I’ll keep it simple.

Have a very Happy New Year! We’re grateful for our family and friends and can’t wait to see what 2026 has in store.

  • November 2025

We came off a whirlwind October expecting more of the same, but November ended up being fairly quiet.

We had a fun trip planned down to Savannah and Hilton Head that we cancelled due to travel issues from the government shutdown. With that time freed up, we had some local fun, checking out the Camden Aquarium and spending a cool, windy day in NYC.

My father (Mike Sr.) was under the weather on his birthday so we had to push his celebration back to the end of the month. We had a fun time watching a runny-nosed Harvey run around, eating too much food, and getting our butts kicked by Matthews and Xandria in a few games of “Grab the Mic” ๐Ÿ˜‚๐ŸŽค๐Ÿ˜’

Thanksgiving was great and Harvey got his first glimpse of Santa at the Cranford town tree lighting event.

Other than that, things were pretty routine so we’ll get right to the pictures. And next month we’ll have a year-end round up and some big news for 2026. Stay warm out there!
